Head of teachers at Veritas, Tameka Thomas, shared that the trip had been deeply informative, from visiting historic places to learning about South Africa’s cultural richness.

“We believe that our learners are the next leaders, and in order for them to lead, they need to know the history and cultures of the world, and this is a perfect opportunity for them to do so. Personally, I have enjoyed the music and the food,” said Thomas.

A naming session was also held, where learners were given the chance to choose African names with special meanings. They then enjoyed traditional African cuisine and learned how to eat using their hands.

“We are thankful for the donation made to our school. It will benefit the entire school greatly. May this be done for others, and may it not be the last,” said Richard Masemola, principal of Emshukantambo Secondary School.
