Fault on network leaves Pimville residents without power

City Power says teams are on-site after a network fault left parts of the area in the dark.

City Power’s Lenasia Service Delivery Centre (SDC) is attending to a power interruption affecting residents in Zone Nine, Pimville, after an outage was reported on November 30.

According to City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena, the outage was caused by a first-port fault on the network.

He said the test branch has been dispatched to locate the exact point of failure before repair work can begin.

“We anticipate that the power will be restored later today,” Mangena said.

The Lenasia SDC has been handling a high volume of outages in recent weeks, which has contributed to delays in restoration times.

“We expect supply to be restored around 19:00, barring any unforeseen challenges.

“We will keep affected customers updated. We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate the community’s patience as we work to restore power safely,” Mangena added.
