The Kofukan South Africa Karate Team (KSAKT) honoured their kareteka of the month for November, after the trophy was fiercely contested among the team members.
Lethabo Maloka won the title for November.
According to sensei Thabo Molubi of KSAKT, this practice they have developed in their dojo is bearing fruit while keeping the karateka motivated.

Maloka was nominated for the second time in a row for his determination and leadership skills in the dojo.
“Maloka has improved a lot since he started training with us at the beginning of the year. There are other karateka who were worthy and deserving to be handed this award, as they showed pure determination, and their techniques have improved a lot in the dojo.
“At the end of the day, it’s not about competition amongst our karateka but self-improvement. Handing out a karateka of the month trophy is our monthly culture, and it keeps our athletes on their toes as everyone of them works hard to win it,” said Molubi.
The team will also be having their year-end gradings and awards ceremony in December.

“All our karateka will be attempting their new karate grades during the ceremony.
“They have all been working hard throughout the year, and I am sure they all want to finish the year on a high note, and all our top flyers will be awarded with big floating trophies at the end of the gradings for their achievements throughout the year. A special thanks to the parents of our dojo for always supporting the karateka.”
