Adult spelling bee fundraiser unites Pimville community for a cause
The Nhlanhla Tshabalala Foundation’s event combined fun, learning, and community spirit to raise funds for educational and development programmes.
The Nhlanhla Tshabalala Foundation (NTF), in partnership with Hub of Zonko, hosted an exciting adult spelling bee competition fundraiser at Onions & All, Pimville, on March 26.
The event brought together community members for an evening of laughter, learning, and purpose.
The fundraiser formed part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to support community development initiatives and educational empowerment.
Proceeds from the event will support programmes that nurture, teach, and uplift communities.

A representative of the foundation said, “We are incredibly proud of the turnout and the spirit of unity shown. This is more than just a competition- it’s about bringing people together for a good cause.”

The event saw enthusiastic participation from adults eager to reconnect with their love for words, while also contributing to a meaningful cause.
With engaging rounds, including a crowd- favourite “spicy round”, attendees enjoyed a vibrant and intellectually stimulating atmosphere.

The event also marked the start of celebrations leading up to the 10th anniversary of NTF, scheduled for August 2026.
This milestone reflects a decade of impactful work, dedication, and commitment to changing lives.
The foundation extended its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, attendees, and partners for their invaluable support in making the event a success.
