Eyethu Soccer Tournament set to kick off in Moletsane

The countdown begins for the highly anticipated Eyethu Soccer Tournament (EST), scheduled to take place on November 2 and 3 in Moletsane, Soweto.

This exciting community event promises to showcase the best of local soccer talent, featuring eight teams from across the region.

Hosted by Tladi Pirates Football Club, the tournament aims to promote unity, sportsmanship, and the development of football at the grassroots level.

The event is expected to draw strong attendance from supporters and community members, with enthusiastic participation from the teams involved.

“The EST is a celebration of local talent and community spirit,” said the marketing and events manager of Tladi Pirates FC, Thabiso Ditsele.

“We are thrilled to bring together teams from across Soweto and provide a platform for young players to shine.”

The tournament will follow a straight knockout format, with matches starting at 09:00 and concluding by 17:00 on both days. Age groups will include U13, U15 and U17 divisions.

uMkhonto Party has pledged its support as the primary sponsor, with discussions underway with local businesses and the Education Industry Exchange (EIE) to facilitate community outreach programmes.

“This tournament is not just about soccer; it is about building stronger, more cohesive communities,” added Ditsele.
