FOREIGN SUSPECT: Police nab suspect for the rape and murder of Orlando girl
The arrest of the suspect comes days after police and the community of Orlando were collaborating for his search.
The Mozambican man, Peta Sara Simiao (24), who is suspected of raping and murdering six-year-old Amantle Samane, has been arrested on October 24.
Simiao allegedly lured Samane, who was playing with her friends, to his rented shack where he raped and strangled her to death on Monday, October 21 in Orlando East.
Samiao has been on the run since the ordeal and residents took to the streets to search for him.

His pictures and information were shared on various social media platforms urging users to assist in apprehending him.
The police shared an update on their official Facebook page thanking residents for playing a role in Simiao’s arrest.
The police wish to thank the South African media fraternity, social media users and community members who shared the pictures of the suspect.
They stood united working with the police and exposed the whereabouts of the suspect.
