Nhlanhla Tshabalala Foundation launches 10th anniversary charity drive

The foundation’s charity golf day and gala dinner will support its goal of providing solar lights to learners who struggle to study after dark.

The Nhlanhla Tshabalala Foundation (NTF) will host its 10th anniversary Charity Gold Day & Gala Dinner on August 28 at Soweto Country Club, Pimville.

Under the theme ‘Leaving no child behind’, the fundraising event will make an impact in the community.

The milestone event is not only a celebration of 10 years of community impact, but a powerful fundraising initiative aimed at donating 100 solar lights to matric learners from informal settlements and disadvantaged schools in Soweto.

‘’As we celebrate this milestone, we are leaving no child behind and want to make a long-lasting impact on the learners lives despite their environmental challenges. Everyone’s support is literally lighting up their future,’’ said Nhlanhla Tshabalala, founder of NTF.

For many learners, limited access to electricity makes studying at night extremely difficult. The foundation believes that a solar light can provide more than illumination; it can provide hope, dignity, safety, and a better chance of academic success.

Tshabalala said: ‘’We are inviting corporate South Africa, golfers, and all partners who believe in education to join us in fighting the path to a brighter future for our learners.’’
