Enjoy sundowners on the banks of the Blesbok Spruit

The Rotary Club of Springs Park will be hosting the Rhythm by the River on October 29 at Plot 44, Newby Street, Grootvaly.

The Rotary Club of Springs Park will host a sundown picnic “Rhythm by the River” on October 29, starting at 1pm, at Plot 44, Newby Street in Grootvaly.

“Rhythm by the River is a lovely way to socialise and mingle with new people and also a great way to enjoy sundowners while watching the sunset,” says Rotary Club of Springs Park president Louise Schaap.

This year’s featured artist will be Springs’s very own Jaryd Smith.

Jaryd is well known in Springs and performs all over the country.

He has shared the stage with top South African artists at music festivals.

“He is quite an entertainer and has everyone in stitches with his good sense of humour,” says Schaap.

“His own songs include Walking Fearless, Take it to the Light and Sunny Sunday Smile.

There will be craft beer stands on the day where each stall will showcase their variety of beers.

Braai stands will be available and people are expected to bring their own meat and utensils.

Raffle tickets to win a liquor hamper will be sold on the day and all proceeds will go to Vita Nova, Geduld Feeding Scheme, Hope iThemba Pregnancy Crisis Centre and Susan van Wyk Feeding Scheme.

“We ask for the community’s support to once again make Rhythm by the River a great success,” says Schaap.

Bring your own picnic basket, blankets, chairs and umbrellas to this relaxing summer afternoon on the banks of the Blesbokspruit.

The Rotary Club of Springs Park is giving away tickets to anyone interested in attending the event.

To win yourself tickets, visit “Rotary Club of Springs Park” on Facebook and provide a reason why you should win the tickets.

Closing date for the giveaway is on Monday at 12noon.

Winners will be announced on the club’s page.
