Woman rescued by police from the robbers

A woman who nearly got robbed of her valuables was rescued by the police from the robbers.

According to Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora the woman was approached by two men in the Springs CBD who demanded money, a cellphone and jewellery on Saturday at 8am.

He says when the victim refused to give the suspects what they demanded they started assaulting her.

“Seeing the police arriving on the scene the suspects tried to run away but the police managed to catch them, ” says Capt Ramphora.

The suspects are facing charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and common robbery.

They are expected to appear in the Springs Magistrate Court soon.
