Sewage waste overflow
Christopher Pinkerton, a resident living in Edelweiss recently noticed water which had a white tint flowing down the storm water runoff.
“The water has been running for at least 10 days and the ground around it has a lot of white sediment,” he says.
He was not sure if this water was industrial waste or sewage waste.
Over the weekend he followed the running water to try and find where it was coming from.
“I followed it up all the way to the other side of Edelweiss and eventually found the source in Nuffield.”
The water was flowing out of an overflowing sewage drain and was running down the street into the storm water drainage system which runs down Kudu Street in Edelweiss.
The metro was approached for comment but did not respond.
