Well done Dwayne

Dwayne Pretorius a Grade 2 learner from Laerskool Christiaan Beyers, is a boy who needs to be reckoned with.

Not only did he receive culture and academic achievements but he also plays rugby for the Valkies U/8.

He scored 18 tries for his team during this season and was awarded the Player of the Year trophy, Most Excellent Player of the Year and shares the East Rand Stereo floating trophy with one of his co-players, Siyabonga Mkhwanazi.

“We are so proud of Dwayne with all his achievements this year. He is academically strong and also received various awards in that category,” says Magda Pretorius, Dwayne’s mother.

For culture he received three gold medals and one medal for division winner for Afrikaans speech Grade 2.

He received culture certificates for dramatised prose U/8 years A+ and dramatised poetry U/8 years B+.

At the Springs Music and Arts Festival, Dwayne received the following certificates: Verse Speaking Grade 2 an A++; Sight Reading Grade 3 a B+; Dramatised Poem Grade 1 to 3 a B+; Still Poetry, boys Grade 2 A+; Dramatised Prose Grade 1 to 3 B + and Unprepared Reading Grade 1 to 3 A++.

His mother says he did exceptionally well at the Afrikaanse Kunsvereeniging as well and received certificates in Dramatised Poetry Grade 2 B+; Dramatised Prose Grade 2 B+; Sight Reading Grade 2A; Unprepared Reading A; Dramatised Prose Grade 2A; Dramatised Poetry B+and English Poetry Grade 2A.

Not only is he strong in speech reading a prose, but he can sing as well as he received a certificate at the Afrikaanse Kunsvereniging in solo singing light A+ and in gospel singing he received an A+.

This Grade 2 learner is proud of his achievements and says he loved every moment of playing for the Valkies and performing at the various competitions.

“I will continue to do so next year,” says a proud Dwayne.
