Residents of Selection Park have to be vigilant and apply all precautions to avoid break-ins into their homes.
Capt Johannes Ramphora, spokesman of Springs SAPS, says there has been an increase in residential break-ins between 7am and 2pm during weekdays.
He warned residents not to leave items outside their homes or in sight of criminal eyes.
He also advises residents to close windows during the day, especially toilet windows that seem to be a point of entrance at many break-ins that occurred during the past weeks in Selection Park.
Ramphora said many residents at times also forget to activate alarms before departure from home.
He asks residents who spot something suspicious in their neighbourhood to immediately call the sector police patrolling the area on 071-675-6339 or 071-675-7001.
