According to a press release issued by Anna-Marie Roux, Eskom media liaison, professional designers are also asked to submit innovative energy-efficient designs, systems or products that are suitable for residential applications.
Eskom launched the EELDC to show that efficient lighting technologies can be used in eye-catching and visually appealing lamps.
The theme of the competition is Celebrate 20 years of democracy.
The closing date for the competition is August 15.
Participants will compete for cash prizes as well as other prizes such as a Lenovo 7″ Android tablet.
