His body was found by a colleague who went looking for him after their control room couldn’t get hold of Mahlangu after 10pm.
SAPS spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the vehicle was tracked on a gravel road.

“It is alleged Mahlangu was approached by a suspect he had previously arrested for a business robbery in Selcourt,” says Ramphora.
He sustained bullet wounds to his chest, head, left arm and hands.
