Man hijacked while waiting in his car in Selection Park

A hijacking took place in Goodman Street, Selection Park on Friday (January 26).

Capt Johannes Ramphora, spokesperson for the Springs police, says the complainant went to visit his brother and sat outside the yard to wait for him.

“His brother was not at home at the time, and while the complainant was waiting a suspect approached and pointed a firearm at him.”

The hijacker allegedly pulled the man out of the vehicle.

As the man ran away he heard two gunshots before the suspect drove away in his vehicle.

The vehicle was later recovered in Tsakane, where one arrest was made.

The arrested suspect was in possession of a BB air gun.

A case of hijacking is being investigated.
