Springs’ Sharoney shoots new music video at Hoërskool Hugenote
Local artist Sharoney Viljoen was back in her school uniform as she shot the music video for her hit single Crush on Thursday.
Crush is one of the songs on Sharoney’s Ghoema-nominated second album ‘Skyn’ which was released in May last year.
For Sharoney, Hoërskool Hugenote was the perfect setting for the video.
“The first time I heard this song, the idea of a high school #Crush immediately came to my mind.
“I had the idea for a very long time. So when we decided on #Crush for the new single, I was so excited to put this idea into reality.
“It just seems to fit together,” says Sharoney.

Sharoney says Crush is another song that showcases her growth as an artist and as a person.
“I believe in consistency, we created a unique pop sound for my music and we stick to the recipe.
“As I grow as an artist so does my music, but there is still that unique pop sound that resonates in the minds of listeners.
“Obviously the entire process of being an artist causes constant changes.
“People you meet and the stories they tell make an impact on you and that changes the way you see things.”
Sharoney will be performing at various festivals throughout the year and fans can buy this song or the album at the venues or on iTunes and Joox.
