George Nkuna has been struggling with sewage in the yard of his Payneville home since mid-July.
The sewage is caused by a blocked drain in the yard next door to his.
Nkuna says he has reported this matter to the municipality and was told they would send someone out to assess the problem.
However, despite reporting the problem, for the first time, on July 19, no one has been to either assess or fix the problem.

In July, he received a reference number that he uses every time he calls to track his complaint.
The Nkuna family is disgusted by the horrible smell and filth they have to live with.
George says they have to clean the filth themselves in order to remove all the rubbish, which comes from other houses in the area, from their garden.

“Over and above the smell that is unbearable, this is a health hazard to the family,” he says.
“The sewage is polluting the air we breathe and we could get ill from being exposed to the sewage for close to a month.”
