The Geduld community policing forum (CPF) noticed two suspects in the act of breaking into a home on Botha Street, Geduld at about 10am last Wednesday.
The CPF immediately proceeded to call the police.
The police rushed to the scene and found two suspects inside the house.
The suspects noticed the police and the community members and attempted to escape.
However, one suspect was arrested and the other one managed to flee the scene.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspects gained entry to the premises by bending a security door with a crowbar.

The items that were recovered from the suspect were jewellery, a laptop, a cellphone and cash.
A case docket of house break-in and theft was opened for further investigation.
The total value of the stolen goods that were recovered is R10 000.
The 32-year-old suspect will appear in court as soon as possible while the Springs SAPS searches for the second suspect.
The station commander of Springs SAPS, brigadier Thembeka Gwebushe, applauded the CPF and the police for their commitment and working relationship to combat crime and make Springs a safer place to reside.
