Local singer making waves.

Muthraparsad has had the privilege of performing with a variety of bands that have brought delight to many fans.

 

Pritisha Muthraparsad,  a nine-year-old singer of Bakerton in Springs competed in the Artes Awards held at Emperor’s Palace on Saturday night.

She attends  Veritas College.

The talented young singer has been singing and entertaining family and friends since she was just three years old, and has pursued this passion ever since.

Over the years, her talent has grown and she has perfected her craft by studying Hindi classical music at the Ninaad School of music under the tutelage of two great teachers, Shri Saradindu Adhikary and Shrimati Monisha Shaw.

She also receives training in India under the guidance of legendary music composer and violinist, Mahesh Rao.

Muthraparsad has had the privilege of performing with a variety of bands that have brought delight to many fans.

Her talents have taken her to Sun City, Gold Reef City with many high profile guests including heads of Indian missions in South Africa, all of whom praised her talents.

One of the many highlights of her career  was when she performed at the annual Eastwave FM Freedom Day Concert with Styler Deshan Naidoo to much acclaim.

She also sang at a wedding where DJ Manick Thor was in awe of her vocal talents.

The highlight of her career thus far was when she was given the privilege of being the opening act of the Shreya Ghoshal show at Emperor’s Palace.

Additionally, Pritisha does speech and drama classes with the CJ Cillie Drama Studio.

Muthraparsad’s life philosophy is, “If you play small, it doesn’t serve the world.

We are born to reveal the glory of God that is within us.”

Her parents have expressed extreme pride in their daughter and see her achieving great things in the future.
