Police search Springs Secondary School

“Eight identified classes were searched and police found what they suspected to be dagga, scissors, suspected stolen cellphones and syringes,” says Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.

Springs SAPS, patrollers and youth desk embarked on a school search at Springs Secondary School in Bakerton on Wednesday morning.

The main purpose of the operation was to curb illegal possession of firearms, drugs, dangerous weapons and bullying at the school.

The operation lasted half an hour and school staff and learners were overwhelmed by the presence of the police to protect the vulnerable children and staff from criminals.

Some of the items that were confiscated by police at the Spring Secondary School.

“The principal applauded the police for their commitment and working with the school to prevent any criminal activities.

“He further emphasised a partnership between the police and the school.

“Eight identified classes were searched and police found what they suspected to be dagga, scissors, suspected stolen cellphones and syringes,” says Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.

Station commander Brig Thembeka Gwebushe was pleased about the police’s efforts to make the school a safer place to learn.
