Residents frustrated with service from the metro

Clr Lorna Beharie went to the scene on Thursday morning and was extremely concerned about the dangerous conditions she saw.

Residents in Wright Park say the metro is putting their lives in danger.

At the intersection of Prince George Avenue and Archibald Road, the grass has grown so high, small cars can barely be seen coming around the corner.

Additionally, motorists coming from Archibald Road turning into Prince George Avenue must go over the barrier line just to see if there is any oncoming traffic.

“This intersection is right at the entrance to Wright park.

“The metro has not cut the grass in months.

“On top of that, the street lights are not working, so motorists routinely miss the entrance to Wright Park.

“From my house, I can hear them reversing back up Prince George trying to get into Wright Park,” says resident Colin Luckhoff.

Clr Lorna Beharie went to the scene on Thursday morning and was extremely concerned about the dangerous conditions she saw.

“The danger is compounded by the fact that a lamp post at the intersection has been knocked down and the repair not completed, so the area is in complete darkness at night.

“I have reported the issue and asked the municipality to respond urgently in terms of the Metro Parks Grass-Cutting Policy,” says Beharie.

The metro failed to respond in time for publication.
