After two weeks of sewage spilling down Second Avenue, the metro fixed the issue on Thursday afternoon which was caused by a blocked drain.
The spillage had created a river of sewage running down the road and was becoming a health hazard to residents.
Resident David Sklar said that he had called the metro on multiple occasions but they were never able to permanently fix the issue.

“We called the metro and two guys were sent to fix the problem.
“They started working and when they saw the sewage level dropping, they left thinking that the job was fixed.
“It was only a matter of hours later when the street was flooded again.”
Sklar lives in a retirement complex where residents have become frustrated with the metro’s lack of action.
It came to a point where Sklar had to make use of his own portable pump to stop the sewage from spilling into the flats.

A local business says the problem has been persisting for years with the metro only providing temporary solutions.
The business states that they fear for the health and safety of the children of a school just down the road.
On Thursday, resident Louise Clarke was able to confirm that metro workers had fixed the blockage and the spilling had stopped.
The metro has failed to respond to our inquiry in time of going to press.
