Local model wins Mr Jnr Teen South Africa and Face of South Africa Gauteng
Springs teenager Juandré Roodt has won Mr Jnr Teen South Africa as well as the Face of South Africa Gauteng 2020.
In addition to winning the two titles, the 18-year-old received the award for the Highest Male Overall Score for Mr Jnr SA 2020.
Miss and Mr Jnr SA is usually a five-day event and the crowning ceremony is held at a prestigious gala event on the final evening.
Due to Covid-19, however, the pageant was held virtually.
Each contestant had to submit two videos of their pageant walks and were interviewed by a panel of judges via Zoom.

After he realised he had won the title, Juandré was overwhelmed by his achievement and asked his mom a couple of times: “Am I really the overall-overall male winner of the entire Mr Jnr SA 2020, not just Gauteng?”
Juandré is excited and thankful for having had the opportunity to win such a great title.
He started modelling by chance as he used to accompany his sister, Chené, to her modelling classes twice a week.
It was during one of these visits that Chené’s modelling coach asked him why he didn’t start modelling as he had great potential.
He started in October 2017 and competed in his first big competition, SA Top Model, after a month of modelling classes and placed first runner-up in his category.
It was also at this competition that he met his coach, Tylor Kotzé, who has been integral to his success.
Juandré’s parents were adamant their son be coached by Tylor due to his international pageant and modelling reputation.

Juandré’s titles include Mr Rainbow Nations 2017, Mr Supreme King 2017 and Mr Jnr King of the World 2019.
He believes his latest title will open a lot of doors and opportunities, helping so many in need with his coach, who won Sir Elite South Africa 2020.
Together they are in the process of creating their own charity organisation which they will announce as soon as it is up and running.
Juandré would love to become a role model to the youth in his community and encourage them to believe in themselves, to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
His strength comes from his support of his family and especially his family who always believed he can do great things, even from a young age.
He is also thankful to his coach, who believed in him and supported his efforts on and off the stage.
Juandré is looking forward to travelling and participating in various international pageants representing his title and SA for which Pageants SA holds the licences in South Africa.
Juandré’s biggest dream is to become a runway and fashion model and to compete in Mr Jnr SA and then in Mr SA.
