Indoor Premier Hockey league will bring more heat this summer
The games will see teams from in and around Springs clash for cash prizes and trophies.
The Springs Indoor Sports Centre is the new home of the Indoor Premier Hockey League.
The league was scheduled to start on November 6, but will now commence on November 13.
The games will see teams from in and around Springs clash for cash prizes and trophies.
Most of the teams are made up of learners from Springs schools.
“We have been running the schools’ indoor hockey league for several years and due to Covid-19, we missed out on the last two years of play.
“We then decided to start in our new home, the Springs Indoor Sports Centre,” explained Zita Teixeira of Eastern Gauteng Schools’ Hockey.

The season started on September 10 and ended on November 4.
“We hosted Norkem Park High School, St Dominic’s School for Girls, Hoërskool John Vorster, Hoërskool Hugenote and Avengers Academy,” she added.
The season concluded with Hugenote u-15 girls in second place after St Dominic’s School for Girls became the overall winners.
The community is invited to be spectators of the games as they begin on Saturday.
