“The crime intelligence unit acted on a tip-off about illegal mining taking place on Phoenix Road on the industrial site.
“They found four men on the scene and they were all arrested,” explained Sergeant Themba Tshabalala, communications officer of Springs SAPS.

The responding officers found equipment suspected to be used in illegal mining activities.

The suspects are aged between 20 and 45 years old.
Springs station commander Brigadier Thembeka Gwebushe applauded the Vispol members for their quick response in combating crime and bringing the perpetrators to book.
