Boxers from Bert Collins Boxing Club participated in the Eswatini National Championships at the end of August at Mavuso Sport Centre in Swaziland.
The club’s Keabetswe Mamphokha who competed against Zweli Dhlamini from Zebra Force in the 57kg weight division lost on a 2-3 split decision.

“I am proud of Keabetswe for his performance in the ring and he showed that with a little bit of more skill training he will be able to be the best,” said the club’s head coach Jeanette Dyzel.
Geannè Dicks who competed against Eswatini National Champions won a silver medal in Mozambique at the Zone 4 Championships on a 5 – 0 points decision.

“Unfortunately Geannè could not compete in Mozambique due to a technical mistake,” said Jeanette.
With the hopes of getting sponsorship from the South African National Boxing Organisation (SANABO), Jeanette hopes Geannè may compete at the Africa Championships from September 9 to September 18.
“At this stage, it is unclear if SANABO can finance our national team for this prestige event,” said Jeanette.
Head coach Jeanette has been invited to participate in the African Amateur Boxing Championships (AFBC) Technical Commission as a two-star official.
The boxing club offers training to anyone interested from the age of five years old and above. They train on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 18:00 to 20:00 at 2128 Javelin Road, Geduld Ext Four.
