SPCA makes a difference in informal settlement

Springs SPCA's next outreach will be on October 22 at N17 informal settlements.

As part of their outreach programmes, Springs SPCA visited the Never Never informal settlement on October 8.

The visit, facilitated by SPCA committee members Beverly Borcherds, cadet inspector Charné Hand and field officer Lenka Paulos Kholu, was well supported by community members.

“It was a great feeling to be able to give the community something that we take for granted,” said Beverley.

“Even though most of the animals were in good condition, we picked up that most were suffering due to a lack of food.”

The committee members had a chance to deworm and offer flea and tick treatments to the pets. They also donated new collars, leashes, food, and water bowls.

The SPCA will be having its next outreach programme on October 22 at the N17 informal settlements.

They are also pleading with the community to donate old collars, leashes, water bowls and flea powder to donate to the underprivileged on their upcoming outreach days.
