GAPS to host group exhibition for local primary schools

The exhibition will be held from December 1 to 8 at the Springs Community Centre in Hall 1.

Gauteng Art for Public Schools (GAPS), in collaboration with the Springs Art Gallery and other stakeholders, will host a group exhibition.

The theme for the exhibition is ‘Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Cultivating Self-Confidence to Combat School Bullying’.

The exhibition will be from December 1 to 8 at the Springs Community Centre from 14:00 to 16:00.

Founding director of GAPS, Nyeleti Majuba, says the NPO provides a platform to children with other passions outside of academia and sports.

“We facilitate an environment where parents can see their children’s outstanding talents.”

The event, which features the works of local primary schools, seeks to use art to have conversations about issues faced by young children in the community.

“We are solutions-based and help the children express and suggest solutions through their use of art. Hopefully, all this exposure will equip the learners with the necessary tools to develop the skills and confidence for when they enter other competitions as they grow older,” said Majuba.

The exhibition will be in hall one and entry is free.
