Meet the committee: the faces behind the Indoor Mining and Military Museum

The indoor museum serves as an extension for the smaller collection of the outdoor museum.

The Springs Indoor Mining and Military Museum is the latest venture bringing excitement to the town.

With its impending launch date, it has announced the committee, which will assist in different ways to ensure its success and continued service to the community.

George Szigethy is a committee member and will be a curator specialising in the air force.

Having been in the air since six months old, his career would place him in the skies and among the giant iron birds.

This will benefit those interested in getting to know information about the history of our air force.

“I will be there to provide insight about the air force. My expertise will provide knowledge and life lessons, especially for the youth.”

The pilot of 40 years says there is much to enjoy at the museum.

“We have plans to make this experience an interactive one. Our history has been difficult, but the museum has made a place for everyone to belong.”

He advises those who aspire to go into mining or the military, “A good place is so start here. We are knowledgeable and we have expertise. Get to know yourself.”
