Springs Boys hopes to dominate the competition at the St Dunstan’s College Easter Sports Festival

Schools from all over the country and Zimbabwe will partake in the challenging three-day sports festival.

Springs Boys High School is taking the green and gold to the field once more at the St Dunstan’s College Easter Sports Festival.
The three-day event will take place on April 17, 19 and 21.

This will be the ultimate clash in hockey, rugby and netball as schools from all around the country and Zimbabwe compete for the title of being the best.

Springs Boys High’s sports manager Bongani Pellemu says the school’s hockey and rugby teams hope to do better this year.

“Last year we didn’t place well and we would hope to do better this year.”

The school’s hockey team aims to sweep its competitors off their feet during this year’s sports festival.

They are competing against last year’s winning schools, Zimbabwe’s Lomagundi, St John’s, CBC and The Heritage School, and Pellemu confirms they are tough opponents.

“We are facing a tough fixture and ideally we would love to win the tournament, but if we placed anywhere in the top four, it would be great.”

He adds that support from loved ones and Springsites will go a long way for morale.

“A lot of supporters and loved ones from other schools come and support their learners. It would be nice if we could get the same support from our people.”
