Caxton East Rand staff mark Mandela Day with acts of kindness

Caxton East Rand employees took action on Mandela Day by preparing sandwiches and collecting soup donations for local NPOs

Caxton East Rand newspapers are not only known for delivering fresh-off-the-press news; their teams are also committed to serving the community.

On July 18, in honour of Nelson Mandela Day, several staff members gathered to prepare 1 000 sandwiches for those in need.
The initiative formed part of a broader effort to uplift and support the less fortunate in the spirit of Madiba’s legacy.

In addition to making sandwiches, the team reached out to local businesses for support, and Springs Gate Pick n Pay answered the call without hesitation.

The store generously donated two boxes containing over 150 packets of soup, which will be distributed to various non-profit organisations in Springs.

The Springs Advertiser expressed heartfelt gratitude to the store for playing a key role in this initiative aimed at making a difference in the lives of others.
