Springs Premier teams sees wins, draws and defeats in busy weekend of fixtures
Springs Premier FC teams played 11 matches across Ekurhuleni this past weekend, with junior teams delivering standout wins while senior sides faced tough defeats. Here’s a breakdown of the action and a look ahead to their upcoming fixtures.
Springs Premier FC witnessed the extremes over the weekend as their junior and senior teams took on formidable opponents on various pitches in Ekurhuleni.
The club played 11 games this past weekend, with three played on home ground — Veritas Colleges. The juniors got the ball rolling on Saturday.
The U12s defended bravely against Old Bens in a gripping 1–1 tie at home. The U10 L4 team enjoyed a rock-solid performance in a 9–1 thrashing of Edenvale at JP Bezuidenhout. The U10 L2s also picked up a victory after winning 8–0 against Edenvale.
The U8s went down 4–1 to Benoni Northerns (B), and the U12 L5 side drew 3–3 with Rovers (A). The U15 L4 recorded an exciting 4–4 draw with TFI on Sunday at home.
Sunday also saw the older teams take to the pitch. The U11 L3 team was beaten 5–2 by Highlands Park, and both the U17 L3 and U17 Premier sides were also beaten by Sunward Park Tigers and Olympia respectively.
