Reckless driver arrested, found to be in the country illegally

A reckless driver in Springs was arrested by EMPD and found to be in the country illegally.

EMPD officers arrested a reckless driver on August 20.

According to the EMPD, the officers spotted a reckless, negligent, and inconsiderate driver on Tuin Street in Springs. The officers gave chase until the motorist’s vehicle came to a halt.

“The 30-year-old driver was arrested, and when officers requested his driver’s licence, they discovered that he was an undocumented foreign national,” said the EMPD.

The suspect was detained at the Springs Police Station and charged with being in the country illegally, as well as with reckless and negligent driving.

He will appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.
