Each year, the Springs Boys’ High School Old Boys tee off at Pollak Park Golf Club for the annual golf day, a fundraising tradition that helps support the school and its initiatives.
This year was no different, with staff members, Old Boys, and supporting golfers turning out in strong numbers. For them, the day offered not only friendly competition on the course but also plenty of fun and moments of reminiscence.
Among the oldest Old Boys present was 66-year-old Dudley Palmer, a long-standing supporter who has consistently contributed to the annual event. He was a learner from 1971 to 1974.
“It’s great to see the school still growing and thriving. Mrs Jansen has worked very hard to make this event a success, and we always have a great time,” Palmer said.
The organiser, Susette Jansen, said the event is always well supported by the attendees.
“Since we began in 2002, the Golf Day has always been an event that we look forward to. It’s lovely to see the Old Boys come together for a great cause.”
The event concluded with lunch and a prize-giving ceremony.
