Springs intruder arrested after bathing and sleeping in children’s bedroom
A Selection Park family got the shock of their lives when they found a naked man asleep in their children’s room after he broke in, bathed, and helped himself to a drink.
A nude intruder was taken into custody by Springs SAPS after he was found in a home in Selection Park on September 5.
Dorette Van Zyl from ProSafe told the Springs Advertiser that the man gained access to the premises by jumping over the fence and breaking a window to enter the residence.
Once inside, the intruder helped himself to a beverage belonging to the homeowner, undressed, took a bath, and fell asleep in the children’s bedroom.
“When the homeowner returned home, his children found the naked man in their bed. The homeowner activated the panic button, and the ProSafe Reaction team responded,” said Van Zyl.
Van Zyl said the response team found the man in the bed, handcuffed him, and called the Springs SAPS, who took the man with them for questioning.
She confirmed that the house alarm was not activated during the time of the incident. Van Zyl said that the man explained he thought it was his house. He took no items during the incident.
