Miss Springs 2024 Bejandri Lourens, who is representing South Africa, has shared her experiences in the Miss Asia Pacific International 2025.
The pageant is taking place in the Philippines with the finals being held tomorrow (October 8). Speaking to the Springs Advertiser, Lourens said her journey has been incredibly eventful and one she will never forget.
“From the moment I arrived, it has been filled with new experiences, inspiring people and moments that have truly shaped me,” she said.
The beauty queen described the atmosphere as vibrant and full of excitement. Meeting other delegates from across the world has been a particular highlight, with each bringing her own unique story, culture and perspective.
“There’s a wonderful sense of unity, sisterhood and purpose among us all. We’ve shared so many special moments from rehearsals and cultural activities to sponsor visits and community engagements,” Lourens said.
Like any journey, challenges have arisen. She recalled that her plane landed amid a typhoon, causing a delayed arrival.

“This was definitely not how I imagined starting the trip.”
On September 30, Cebu City experienced a 6.9 magnitude earthquake. Lourens described it as a “very scary experience”, but thankfully, all delegates were safe.
“The organisation has been incredible in ensuring our safety and well-being, taking great care of all the delegates during and after the incident. Our schedule has since been adjusted to prioritise safety and contribute to relief efforts, which has been deeply humbling,” she added.
Lourens highlighted how the experience has reminded her of the importance of gratitude, compassion and resilience. She said it has been inspiring to see how delegates and the local community have come together to support one another in times of uncertainty.
“Despite the challenges, I’m incredibly grateful for every lesson and blessing along the way. This experience has strengthened my faith and reaffirmed my purpose, representing South Africa with pride, grace, and a heart to serve,” she concluded.
