Springs residents urged to attend electricity tariff consultation

The City of Ekurhuleni will meet with residents in Springs this Saturday to discuss the newly introduced basic charge affecting Tariff A.2 customers.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) invites the community to a public consultation meeting to discuss electricity tariff charges at the Springs Supper Hall on Saturday at 11:00.

On the agenda will be the basic charge that was introduced in the electricity tariff schedule for the 2025/26 financial year.

Residents from Springs and surrounding areas are invited to the meeting. The basic charge in the tariffs schedule affects specifically affects customers whose electricity supply falls under Tariff A.2.

“These are non-indigent, low-consumption residential households. The city will provide transport for residents who wish to attend the public consultation meeting,” the CoE said.

The bus pick-up points are:
• Gold One Gate/Eastvale Shopping Centre – 09:00
• Welgedacht shops – 09:00
• Slovo Taxi Rank – 09:00
• Bakerton Garage (Astron Energy) – 09:00
• Payneville Primary – 09:00
• Vogel Struisbult – 09:00
• Penta Transport – 09:00
• Daggafontein Circle Kwasa Village – 09:00
• N17 informal settlement – 09:00
