Dancers light up Springs Civic Centre with Throwback to Turn-Up show

From old-school beats to modern moves, Marouzanne’s Dance Academy wowed the crowd at the Ken Gampu Theatre with a dazzling showcase celebrating dance through the decades.

Marouzanne’s Dance Academy took the community down memory lane with its Throwback to Turn-Up dance event at the Ken Gampu Theatre (Springs Civic Centre) on October 25.

The academy’s head coach, Marouzanne Higgs, described the event as a dance explosion through the decades – from the 1980s to the 2000s.

In a mesmerising display of talent, the dancers showcased their skills across various dance styles. Higgs said the event exceeded her expectations.

“It was amazing. Many people said afterwards to me they could not believe it was our first show,” she said.

She said that although the performers were nervous at first, they became confident once they stepped on stage.

“After delivering outstanding performances, they were extremely proud of themselves,” she said.

The event will be hosted every second year. Higgs thanked the dancers, the parents, and all who contributed to the event’s success.
