Owner appeals for help finding missing three-legged cat
After weeks of searching, SPCA manager Annecia le Roux is asking anyone who may have seen her beloved cat, Stompie, to come forward. He is neutered, microchipped, and has a short tail.
SPCA manager Annecia le Roux asks the Springs community to help her find her cat, Stompie, a short-tailed black-and-white male, neutered and microchipped, and missing a back leg.
She told the Springs Advertiser that Stompie went missing in mid-October and was last seen on Wankie Avenue in Selcourt.
She said their hearts are shattered and they are desperate for his safe return because he has been part of their family since he was two weeks old.
“He had a tough start to life and bravely underwent major surgery to remove his severely deformed leg. Despite everything, he grew into the most loving, gentle boy, our little fighter who has only ever known the warmth and safety of home,” said Le Roux.
Le Roux said their home feels empty without him, and that they walk the streets in the early mornings and late at night calling his name, hoping to hear his meow.
She added, “We hardly sleep anymore; the worry is unbearable. His sister is lost without him, and so are we. He needs his family, and we need him.”
Le Roux believes someone might have taken him in, perhaps thinking he was a stray. She said they are not angry if someone took him in; they just want him back where he belongs.
