SPCA Springs receives generous donation through Pajamas for Paws initiative
SPCA Springs has received a donation of dog food, blankets and other essential supplies from Studio K's Pajamas for Paws initiative, helping care for animals while encouraging the community to support local animal welfare.
SPCA Springs were the beneficiaries of a heartfelt donation through Studio K’s Pajamas for Paws initiative.
Studio K’s Springs, Nigel, and Benoni branches came together to donate a collection of dog food, blankets, and other much-needed supplies for the animals in the local SPCA’s care.
The owner of the Springs branch, Keri Thompson, said as a dance teacher, she strongly believes in giving back and thus influencing young dancers to do the same.
“I do not take that lightly and therefore believe I need to set a good example to these dancers. On a personal level, the SPCA has become very close to my and my daughters’ hearts, so helping this organisation was a no-brainer,” she said.
She highlighted the importance of lending a helping hand to animal welfare centres.
“I think it’s important to help because if we don’t, who will? I sometimes think we, as humans, don’t deserve animals.

“Every week, there are new sad stories from animal neglect; there are so many ways the community can help at the SPCA by just reaching out to them,” Thompson said.
She encouraged the community to help in any way they can.
“There are volunteer sessions every Saturday from 08:00 to 12:00. Volunteers can come help walk the dogs and just give them the love they so deserve.”
Thompson also said the community can assist by providing financial sponsorship or adopting.
“There are so many beautiful dogs and cats at the SPCA looking for a home. And lastly, get your pets sterilised – there are too many animals and not enough homes. The SPCA offers discounts on sterilisation, so just get in touch,” she concluded.
The society expressed its gratitude for the generous donation.
