A Springs woman has won R100 000 worth of building materials in TimBuild’s national competition.
Isabel Winkler was overjoyed when she found out she had been selected as the winner from thousands of entries received nationwide.

The competition required customers to spend at least R250 at any of TimBuild’s 10 stores across the country to qualify for the draw.

To announce the winner, their officials drew a name from a bucket containing all the eligible entries before immediately calling Winkler with the exciting news.

Winkler said being the winner feels surreal.

“I am in a daze of euphoria, planning, and pinching myself now and again to make sure that it is true. My absolute passion in life is décor.

“I love watching décor and upgrade programmes on TV. When they go into a rubbish unit and fix it up, I wish that could be me; well now it’s us,” she said excitedly.

She plans to use the material to refurbish the kitchen of her Selcourt accommodation, Emerald Guest House.

“I have had the guesthouse for the last 30 years, and over the years I have honestly said how lovely it would be to win a jackpot and be able to just spruce everything up without counting every cent.”

Senior manager Chandr Beharie from TimBuild’s Springs branch said the team was thrilled that a member of the local community had won the national competition.

“It is an honour to see someone from our community receive this incredible prize. We are excited to be part of the renovation journey and can’t wait to see the finished result,” said Beharie.
