The Avenues parking is not safe

On July 3 I parked my VW Polo at the Avenues Shopping Centre under the roof and paid parking that should be safe.

When I returned after an hour, my car was gone. I told the security guard who was patrolling the parking lot that my car was gone, and he said, “Oh, it must have happened while I was on lunch.”

The security supervisor also came to see me and then phoned the police.

I asked them to check if a white Polo with a NW registration had gone out without a ticket. They came back and said that a blue bakkie with a NW registration did go out without a ticket earlier.

I don’t know if they took the details of the driver of the blue bakkie that drove out without a ticket.

Then it came to my mind that I did I see two men sitting in a blue bakkie two cars away from where my car was parked, they must have changed the number plates.

The supervisor said that it looks like an inside job. The thieves pay R20 after they said they had lost their ticket and drive out with your car.

I will never shop at the Avenues again. Why pay for your parking, but your car is not safe. It is better to park in the street. I feel management should have taken more responsibility and done more.
