Never having been much of a Danielle Steel fan, I found this book amazingly entrancing and difficult to put down.
In some of her previous books that I managed to come across, it was incredibly difficult to get into as I’m more of a adventure or fantasy freak, but this one captured me right from the very first sentence.
The story focuses on twin boys who had the very same upbringing, same family and same town they grew up in.
But they were dramatically different in every way.
They become bitter enemies from childhood, one is good and one bad.
One leaves his hometown, but returns twenty years later when all else failed and he moved into his parents’ lakeside cottage.
The reunion of the brothers, although sweet and healing at first, took a turn and revealed shattering revelations.
The good twin came across his late mother’s journals and what he found there made him question what lies beneath the prodigal son’s perfect surface.
To all Danielle Steel and non-Danielle Steel fans, I would recommend this book a thousand times over.
It’s dark, twisting and the ending plot is one you wouldn’t have expected.
