Metro not doing too badly

Peter Denton of Stuisbult writes:

The council must be commended for at last starting repairs to the swimming pool in Selection Park, even though it has taken them many years to get to this point.

They are also cleaning up grass growing on the sides of the roads, and even in parks.

What they should now do is to stop taxi drivers from parking their vehicles in the parks, nd making more mess.

Who knows, we might one day have a totally clean town?

There is something that must be done, and that is to clean up all the filth in town itself.

Perhaps the municipal manager could take a drive through there and see for himself what it looks like.

We do not want to end up the same as some other countries in Africa where filth in the streets is the norm.

Just imagine what germs are lurking there in the gutters.

I must admit, most suburbs are relatively clean, so there has been some progress.

The Metro police must also pull up their socks and do some policing of traffic light violations, and also those of stop signs being ignored.

Just think of the extra money flowing into council coffers from all the fines imposed on errant and reckless drivers?

Congratulations, council, you are not doing too badly.
