Playing tennis in the rain
The rain couldn't stop tennis veterans Ernst de Wet and Ian Iggleton on Sunday.
It was raining most of the weekend and the Gary Dickson Veteran Tennis Tournament was put on hold on Saturday.
“The drizzling rain on Sunday couldn’t stop us playing Rodney Smith and Ryno de Lange in the tournament doubles,” says Ian.
Ernst and Ian beat Rodney and Ryno 6-3, 6-2 in the doubles.
Ian adds it wasn’t really one-sided, it was evenly matched.
He teased Ryno, who is wearing glasses, that the rain was affecting his vision.
Sunday’s doubles winning teams won both their matches and now have four points.
The next games of the tournament will take place on Saturday at 2pm at the Selection Park Tennis Club.
