New look new results
It has been a meaningful start to the season for the Dr Johan Jurgens High School rugby teams with their newly designed rugby jerseys.
The appointed coaching staff recently designed the new jerseys and logo for all the teams.
U-17 coach Johan Rens says it is the first time in many years that the traditional design has changed and coaches can see the outstanding performance on the field.
The coaches’ enthusiasm and love for the sport also contribute to the success of the players. However, the u-17 team’s coaches Rens and Werner Prinsloo, claim they provide the tools, but it’s the players who build the results.
This team played three games and accumulated a total of 120 points with only 14 points against them so far.
They recently beat Springs Boys’ High School with an excellent score of 35-0.
Adding to their 120 points are three more fantastic wins against Balfour High School 31-0, Curro Serengeti Independent School with a 29-7 score and Kempton Panorama School 25-7.

Herman Rens, also a coach, says it is the first time in 10 years that the school has beaten Balfour High School on their home turf.
The u-15 rugby team also had a good win against Kempton Panorama School with a 15-12 score in the dying seconds of the match.
Fly half Justin Swartsel scored two excellent tries.
Coach Shannon Browne and assistant coaches James Wilke and Gert Erasmus were impressed with the commitment the team showed on the field.
The u-14 team is being coached by Cathrine and Martin van Schalkwyk and Tiaan Smit who lays down the foundation phase for the Jurgie Warrior rugby at the school.
The next games will be played against Belvedere School at Dr Johan Jurgens High School sports grounds on Thursday.
