Rusty Bellies edge a victory at Olympia Park.

Despite Eugene Loubster’s 28, the batting started to collapse steadily as the batsmen were undone by the fierce bowling from the Rusty Bellies.

 

Despite a frigid morning, the day heated up nicely as the players walked out onto the field on Sunday.

The Rusty Bellies won the toss and decided to bat.

They were able to put together a score of 128 runs for the loss of seven wickets after their allotted 20 overs.

Their innings started steadily with both openers getting a healthy amount of runs.

The middle order, in the form of Willem van Niekerk and Rudolf Deysel who knocked 32 and 22 respectfully, ensured the team achieved a respectful total and kept the bowlers on their feet.

The Jolly Brothers started off well with Martin van Vuuren smashing 50 from 28 before retiring hurt from the crease.
