Springs too good for Boksburg

The scorers were kept busy on Saturday evening when Springs took on Boksburg at the Springs Rugby Club in the Makopano Covid Cup final in an ever-changing game that ended in 28-15.
Both teams battled hard throughout the year to make it to the final and were prepared to give it their best.
Boksburg got off to a good start with an early try but failed to convert this early advantage.
Springs soon fought back with an excellent try from flyhalf Tyron Boesak.
Springs held possession of the ball for the majority of the game, constantly putting pressure on Boksburg’s defence.
The visiting team was forced into mistakes and two crucial penalties in the first half put Springs in the box-seat by the time the whistle blew at half-time, with the score at 13-8.

Springs was the happier team and were looking to capitalise on their momentum when the teams took to the field for the second half of the game.
Boksburg fought back well, but the Springs team were up for the challenge, with two extra tries from David Kruger and Shaun Matsane.
Boesak was awarded man of the match for playing an instrumental role in two of Springs’ tries and his own try.

Springs was by far the better team on Saturday, while handling errors and knock-ons at essential stages of play near the try-line cost Boksburg heavily.
