Tennis club champs
The Selection Park Tennis Club's annual club championships was played on Sunday.
The two singles matches started off the day and was thoroughly enjoyed by an appreciative crowd of supporters.
Defending champions Daniel Myeni and Kayla Yelverton retained their titles.
The left-handed defending single’s champion Daniel mixed up power shots with delicate drops, sending his opponent Gary Mons scurrying about the court.
“Gary played a good game but Daniel wearied him down to take the trophy once again,” says Ernst de Wet, club chairman.
Kayla proved too strong for Colleen Fawcett, finishing her off in two quick sets.
Ernst says Sunday was a huge success with a lot of strong players.
“This also reflects the success of the club as we have won four out of the five league matches this year,” concludes Ernst.
