Fight for the cup
The Springs Stealers played the Red Sox once again this past weekend in a final battle for the Championship Cup.

Stealers won the toss and elected to field first with Geoffrey Merrifield first on the pitching mound for Stealers. He struggled almost from the start, allowing four runs off three hits, two walks and two hit by pitch.
Facing Jason Palmer as pitcher for the Red Sox, the first three batters from the Stealers were unable to reach base.
When they returned to the field, Stealer dispatched the first batter with a good catch by Juan du Plessis. The middle batters got in three more runs before pitching responsibility was turned over to Francois McGregor and he closed the innings off putting Springs back in to bat.
Stealers managed to find a hole in the Red Sox defence and with a solid hit from Mandla Nkabinde, Stealers added their first run onto the board.
Red Sox back in to bat, got in another three runs before the Stealers outfielders ended the innings with a great catch by Mandla and, shortly after his catch, a catch by David Williams.
Stealers going in to bat again proved that there were places that advantages could be taken and they scored three runs off solid hits by Francois, Leon Tancrel and Chris Stone.
Stealers were back in to field ready to put up a fight, getting three outs without any batter reaching first.
Matthew Scrooby scored in the fifth inning off a hit from Francois McGregor.
Red Sox scored another two runs but Stealers worked hard limiting the damage and got hold of the bat once more. In the sixth, neither team scored as the fielders and pitchers held back the batters.
Top of the seventh and Red Sox got the breakthrough first and went on to score four more runs before Chris closed the inning with a force out at home.
In the Stealers last batting inning, the side was unfortunately retired without being able to get a runner on base, ending the match with a final score of 16-5 for the Rex Sox.
